THE NEW RICHMOND BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL

Quebec's first and only bluegrass music festival, the New Richmond Bluegrass Festival, takes place annually during the week leading up to Labour Day. 

Among the world-class acts having performed on stage in New Richmond are Rhonda Vincent & the Rage, Dailey & Vincent, the Special Consensus, Junior Sisk, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, the Grascals and many more.

In addition, Canada's top bluegrass artists have played at the festival - Ray Legere & Acoustic Horizon, the Bluegrass Diamonds, Janet McGarry & Wildwood, the Bluegrass Unit and Paul Hébert just to name a few.

Local musicians

The festival also features local country artists in Wednesday evenings classic country show as well as late night country shows in the barn. The Clemville Outlaws, Roger Lee Martin, Nancy Vignola and Pamela Rooney are just some of the very talented local musicians who have performed at the event.

Jams

A bluegrass festival wouldn't be complete without the contribution of amateur musicians and New Richmond is no exception. After the lights go out over the main stage, the campground fills with the sound of amateur musicians who are often joined by the pros to play great music into the early morning hours.

The barn is also home to our late night jams where host bands are joined on stage by amateurs to perform for the late night crowd. Ths recent addition to the festival has become very popular with the professional and amateur musicians alike.

The site

The festival takes place at the Festival Park at Duthie Point, an 82-acre historical site on the shore of the Bay of Chaleur. The site is home to several historic building dating from 1775-1910, a lighthouse, walking trails and a beach. This all makes it a great place to play and listen to bluegrass music.

Camping

Camping is FREE all week and  over 250 RVs of all sizes. Reserved campsites which are closer to all the music are also available at a cost of $30 per unit for the entire week. Click here for more information or to reserve your campsite.
