Festival Park during the New Richmond Bluegrass Festival
Duthie Point is a beautiful 82-acre site presenting the
fascinating heritage and culture of New Richmond, Quebec. Several historic
buildings from the years 1775 to 1910, including the Chaleur Bay Military
Museum, the Gendron General Store and the Duthie's Point Lighthouse, are found
on this former port and shipyard.
Festival Park is located on the southeast portion of Duthie
Point and was once a landing strip for fishermen who came to the area to enjoy
salmon fishing on the Grand Cascapedia River and now provides and ideal location for camping. The park includes the Willett
House which is now an inn and vacation home, an outdoor stage which hosts some
of bluegrass music’s best acts at our annual bluegrass festival and the barn, a
120 X 40 foot building which is closed on three sides and hosts several events
during the summer.
